With increasing cost of undergraduate education at the IIT’s there is a great need to support bright students from economically weaker backgrounds.
IIT Delhi offers merit-cum-means (MCM) scholarships to students with family income below Rs 4.5 lakhs per annum (LPA) and having a GPA of at least 6. However considering the high costs of tuition (2 LPA), UG students at the Institute with family income above this threshold also require support.
Donor supported MCM scholarships are awarded to students who are required to pay the full tuition fee and have family income less than 9 LPA. Students are selected on the basis of their rank in JEE (advanced) and continuation depends on their maintaining a CGPA of at least 7 at the end of each academic year. The scholarship amount of Rs 1 Lakh per annum covers half the tuition fee and the award is for 4 yrs only.
Other options for scholarships (award made in 2nd year, selection for academic & co-curricular achievements etc) are also possible and we would be happy to guide you. You are also welcome to contribute smaller amounts to the scholarship fund.
